Using Merckens Wafers always makes my year-end batch of “Trash” a hit. The wafers are so easy to melt and time enough to get my “creations” mixed well. I also use the milk chocolate and dark chocolate.

I bought this because of the overall star reviews, not digging in, necessarily, because it's not a major purchase. But when it arrived I read the bag for instructions on melting (there are none) so I ended up here digging through reviews (which made me *cringe face*) my bag is not near expiration, and I just double-broiled a handful to test...turned out beautiful. So many recent negative reviews, so I thought I'd share my happy...I think this is yummy, and it melted easily and beautifully.

It's hard to know if white chocolate is going to be to thick for dipping... Well this chocolate melted so smooth. Even when I added coloring it didn't change consistency. I will be buying again. Highly recommend
Great for making almond bark. Melts easily in the microwave.
Merckens is the best wafers to use they melt so nice and so easy to use. Just need to be careful when melting they don't care for hot water so use warm water in the double boiler. It takes a little longer to melt but worth the wait.
Best brand for dipping. Our family tradition is dipping several dozen chocolate covered cherries. The white, milk chocolate and dark chocolate each melt a little bit differently. The white is the most challenging. This takes patience and a little more time for melting.This year we used a conduction hot plate with small conduction ready pans. This worked very well on 100 degrees. Melted nicely and maintained a smooth consistency for dipping. Do not add ANYTHING to the chocolate. Be sure the pans or bowls are completely free of any moisture. Happy dipping!!
With other brands i have to use shortening or oil to get the chocolate to melt for dipping. However i dont have to do that with these and the taste is fantastic.
